5 Changes That Take 30 Minutes and Boost AI Visibility

You've learned the principles of AEO. Now it's time to implement them. These five quick wins can be completed this afternoon—and they're the changes that have the biggest immediate impact on AI citations.

1Deploy Your 7-Word Phrase (10 minutes)

Your 7-word brand identity phrase is the foundation of AEO. Deploy it consistently across key locations.

Implementation Checklist

Homepage (5 minutes):

  • Add your 7-word phrase to the H1 or hero section
  • Include it in the meta description (Settings → SEO)
  • Place it in the first paragraph of body copy

LinkedIn Company Page (3 minutes):

  • Open your LinkedIn company "About" section
  • Make your 7-word phrase the FIRST sentence
  • Save changes

About Page (2 minutes):

  • Add 7-word phrase to the first paragraph
  • Ensure it appears within the first 100 words

Before/After Examples

SaaS Company - Before

"Welcome to Acme! We're passionate about helping teams work better together through innovative technology solutions that transform the way modern organizations collaborate."

SaaS Company - After

"Acme: Project management software for remote teams. We help distributed companies stay aligned across time zones with centralized communication, tasks, and file management."

Why it works: The 7-word phrase appears immediately, is consistent, and creates a clear neural association in AI systems.

Professional Services - Before

"Summit Consulting brings decades of experience helping healthcare organizations navigate complex challenges and achieve operational excellence."

Professional Services - After

"Summit Consulting: Management advisory firm for healthcare organizations. We reduce hospital operational costs without compromising patient care through data analytics and clinical workflow optimization."

Why it works: Specific industry focus (healthcare), clear value proposition, includes 7-word phrase.

2Rewrite Your Homepage Headers (8 minutes)

Headers are prime citation territory. Make every header under 18 tokens and specific.

The Process

  1. Step 1: List your current homepage headers (2 minutes)
  2. Step 2: Count tokens for each (use simple 1 word = 1.3 tokens estimate)
  3. Step 3: Rewrite any header over 18 tokens (6 minutes)

Header Rewrite Examples

E-commerce - Before

❌ "Premium Quality Products at Competitive Prices with Fast, Reliable Shipping" (12 words = ~16 tokens, but vague)

E-commerce - After

✅ "4.9/5 Stars from 10,000+ Verified Buyers on Trustpilot" (9 words = ~12 tokens, specific)

Why it's better: Specific, verifiable, under 18 tokens, citation-worthy

B2B SaaS - Before

❌ "Innovative Platform That Transforms How Modern Teams Collaborate Effectively" (10 words = ~13 tokens, but generic)

B2B SaaS - After

✅ "Teams Save 8 Hours Weekly Using Our Platform" (8 words = ~10 tokens)

Why it's better: Quantifiable benefit, clear outcome, specific

Legal Services - Before

❌ "Experienced Attorneys Providing Exceptional Legal Representation" (7 words = ~9 tokens, but vague)

Legal Services - After

✅ "87% Win Rate in Employment Law Cases Since 2020" (10 words = ~13 tokens)

Why it's better: Specific expertise area, verifiable track record, quantifiable

Your Turn: Header Audit Template

Create this simple spreadsheet (or just a text document):

Current Header Word Count Est. Tokens Specific? New Header
[Your header 1] [count] [words × 1.3] Yes/No [rewrite]
[Your header 2] [count] [words × 1.3] Yes/No [rewrite]

3Add Statistics to Key Claims (5 minutes)

AI engines favor data-backed statements. Add statistics to your three most important claims.

Where to Add Statistics

Identify your three main value propositions. For each one, add:

Examples by Industry

Healthcare Provider - Before

"We deliver high-quality patient care with excellent outcomes."

Healthcare Provider - After

"98% patient satisfaction rating across 5,000 annual visits (Press Ganey Survey, 2024)."

Analysis: Added: Specific percentage, sample size, time frame, source. Reduced: Vague language ("high-quality," "excellent"). Token count: 13 tokens (citation-ready)

SaaS Platform - Before

"Our customers see significant time savings."

SaaS Platform - After

"Customers reduce meeting time by 40% on average (internal study, n=200 companies, 2024)."

Analysis: Added: Specific percentage, sample size, methodology note. Removed: Vague term ("significant"). Token count: 15 tokens (citation-ready)

Agency - Before

"We've helped numerous clients improve their marketing results."

Agency - After

"We've increased client lead generation by 156% average across 45 campaigns since 2023."

Analysis: Added: Specific percentage, campaign count, time frame. Removed: Vague terms ("numerous," "improve"). Token count: 15 tokens (citation-ready)

Where to Find Statistics

Internal data sources:

  • Customer satisfaction surveys
  • Usage metrics and analytics

  • Time savings or efficiency gains

External validation:

  • Review platform ratings (G2, Trustpilot, Capterra)

  • Third-party audits or certifications
  • Published case studies
  • Customer testimonials with numbers

Quick implementation:

  1. Open your homepage
  2. Find your top 3 value propositions
  3. Add one statistic to each
  4. Include source or methodology

LinkedIn is heavily indexed by AI engines. Your company page is prime citation real estate.

5-Minute LinkedIn Optimization

Analysis: Clear industry focus (e-commerce) | Specific problem (cart abandonment) | Quantifiable capability (47 signals) | Measurable results (28%, 60 days) | All sentences citation-ready

5Create Quote Blocks for Key Statements (2 minutes)

AI engines often extract formatted quote blocks. Create 2-3 prominent quote boxes on your homepage or About page.

What Makes a Good Quote Block

Criteria:

Implementation Methods

HTML/CSS approach:

<blockquote class="stat-callout">
"95% client retention rate across 300+ customers since 2022."

</blockquote>

Markdown approach:

> "95% client retention rate across 300+ customers since 2022."
> — *Acme Annual Report, 2024*

Visual design tips:

Quote Block Examples

"Our telemedicine platform serves 50,000 patients across 12 states."

— HealthTech Solutions, 2025 Q1 Report

  2. Format each as a quote block
  3. Add source/attribution
  4. Place prominently on homepage or About page
  5. Ensure each quote is under 18 tokens

Set a timer:

Knowledge Check

Question 1: Which of these homepage headers is most citation-worthy?

A) "Innovative Solutions for Modern Businesses"
B) "Teams save 8 hours weekly using our platform"
C) "Award-Winning Technology You Can Trust"

Click to reveal answer

Answer: B

"Teams save 8 hours weekly using our platform" is most citation-worthy because it:

Options A and C use generic marketing language ("innovative," "award-winning") without specific claims.

Question 2: What should be the FIRST sentence on your LinkedIn company page About section?

Click to reveal answer

Answer: Your 7-word brand identity phrase

Example: "Acme: Project management software for remote teams."

This creates immediate clarity for both human readers and AI engines about who you are and what you do. The 7-word phrase should be deployed consistently across all platforms.

Question 3: When adding statistics to your key claims, which element is MOST important?

Click to reveal answer

Answer: Specificity

While source attribution and time frames are valuable, the most critical element is specific numbers.

The specific claim is verifiable, extractable, and citation-worthy. AI engines can cite it with confidence.
